Jay Lehmann

Jay Lehmann has conducted award winning orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber ensembles for the past 48 years. He teaches all levels of Theory courses, Jazz, Blues and Popular Music in the American Culture, and Music Appreciation. He is a recipient of a Golden Bell Award for Outstanding Teaching in the State of California as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award. Lehmann was selected as the 1999 Laney College Teacher of the Year, has served as Chairman of the Curriculum Committee, as a member of the Academic Senate, and as Music Department Chairman. He received a Bachelors Degree and Lifetime Teaching Credential from the University of California, Davis, and a Masters Degree in Trumpet Performance from California State University at Hayward.
