Downtown’s Laney College bids a fond farewell to star running back C.J. Anderson, who will join the Cal football team next season. During his two years with the Laney Eagles football team, Anderson was a National Junior College Athletic Association NorCal Conference leader covering over 1,500 yards and earning 13 touchdowns. In addition, Anderson held the titles of All-Conference, All-Region, All-State and All-American in football. Read More Here……..

In a surprising twist, Laney College freshman tight end Connor Peters signed a letter of intent with Boise State on Wednesday.
Peters, a former De La Salle High star, fully expected to sign with San Diego State as a midyear transfer early Wednesday morning. But he changed his mind when Boise State — his dream destination all along — offered him a scholarship before the Federal Express packet arrived from the Aztecs.
“Oh man, I never felt better,” Peters said of how things turned out.
Peters, who is 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, is excited to be joining his former Spartans teammate Blake Renaud, a true freshman linebacker, with the Broncos. Peters said Renaud was “blown away” when he learned that they would be teammates again. Read More Here…..
