About the Swim Team

The 2010 team was one of the most successful teams Laney College has had in the past 5 years.  The team placed 3rd only a 1/2 a point out of 2nd place.  We had several top 5 finishes, 90% personal bests and an event winner in the 1650 Freestyle. The team is a part of the Bay Valley Conference which includes, Solano College, College of Marin, and hosted schools –Merced College, College of Sequoias, and Shasta College.

Swimming is a Spring sport. The season runs from mid January until the beginning of May. Practices are held at Laney College from 1:15pm-3:30pm Monday- Friday.  Meets are generally on several Friday and Saturdays during the season.  Swimmers are expected to be at all practices and meets.  If schedule/class conflicts occur contact the coach about other options. Participation on the Laney Water Polo Team  in the Fall is also encouraged.

Players can join the team with out previous experience but some previous swim skills are recommended.  ALL PERALTA students are welcome to join the swim team.
