How do I? Quick Reference

For some quick reference help, here are some directions. Please use Making Changes page for more detail

All start with once you’re logged in and are at the Home Page:

To modify a course:
 Click on Build – Courses
 Click on Laney College from the pull down menu and the department you are in
 * you do not have to choose a course number or title if you’d like to see the options
Click the copy icon (two pages) to start the modification process
Choose the type of modification you are doing (see Minor Course Change versus Modification page for explanation)
 You can see the comments from the committee using the C! icon
 Click on ACTION and choose the appropriate option
* if there is no copy icon, that  means someone is working on that outline. Go to Search – click “ALL” (default is only Active courses), choose your discipline and the full list will come up. Look for purple or green outlines to find out who is working on the outline
To submit a course for review:
 Once you have complete all the steps in the checklist and clicked Finish on each page
 Click Submit and it will move to the next step (See Approval Process page for details)

 

 

To find where your course is in the process:
 Click on Track – My Proposals
 Click on Check Status
  * you can scroll through to look at comments, or Click Visual to see it as a flow chart
To approve the courses as chair:
 Click on Track – My Approvals
 Click on Department Chair from the pull down menu and click Next
 You can review the outline using the WR icon
 You can see the comments from the committee using the C! icon
 Click on ACTION and choose the appropriate option
To make changes to a course in process:
 You can make any changes to a course once it is being reviewed until you submit it to the committee. Here is will turn from purple to green.
To review/approve the courses as originator (after reviewers or SLO coordinators comments):
Click on Track – My Approvals
Click on Author from the pull down menu and click Next
You can see the comments from the committee using the C! icon
You can review the outline using the WR icon, make changes using the edit (pencil) icon
 Click on ACTION and choose the appropriate option
 ***This has to happen for it to go to the committee for review and vote!
