John Polos Home

meMy name is John Polos and I am a part time Biology Instructor at Laney College.  I have taught at Laney since 2007 and I am very proud to be part of the very dedicated and organized Biology department. At Laney, I teach the online versions of Bio 28 (human nutrition) and bio 77 (Bio 77 Business and Regulatory Practices in Biomanufacturing)

I received my M.S. in Biological Sciences at CSU East Bay where I focused on vertebrate physiolgoy (including environmental, neural, and patho physiology).   For my masters thesis, I studied the use of abdominal muscles during breathing cycles of cane toads during stressful conditions.  I also did research work studying lymph movement in bull frogs.
