Oakland City Chorus

Oakland City Chorus , based at Laney College, is open to people of any age from the greater community. OCC performs a wide variety of repertoire including: Classical Music, World Music, and Spirituals. We have sung in Farsi, Hebrew, Hindi, Latin, Luo, Mandarin, and many other languages. A placement audition and enrollment in either Music 125, 128, or 225 at Laney College are required.
Director John Reager holds two Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He studied conducting with David Conte, Anthony Pasqua, and Sonja Neblit. He was an AGMA tenor and soloist for eight seasons with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus and has directed numerous choirs. He is published by G.I.A. in Chicago.

Memorial Concert for Nicole Denalda Siegrist and other victims of the Ghost Ship Tragedy. Requiem by Gabriel Faure and Litanies a la Vierge Noire by Francis Poulenc with organist Jonathan Dimmock. Friday, December 9, 7PM, First Presbyterian Church of Oakland. General Admission $20, $10 Students/Seniors at the door. A separate collection will be taken by the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland, all ticket proceeds go toward offsetting our expenses.
