John Reager
Chorus, Voice, Piano, Music History
John Reager directs the Laney College Choir, and teaches Music History, Voice, and Piano.
A member of ASCAP, he is published by G.I.A. in Chicago. Composition teachers include David Conte and Conrad Susa. Solo recitals as composer, tenor, pianist, and organist. Appearances on KPFA Radio and at the Berkeley Public Library about exploring music history. As an AGMA tenor with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus he participated in Grammy winning recordings for London Records, RCA, and Paramount Pictures, performed the role of Remandado in Bizet’s Carmen, and was tenor soloist for the premier of Anthony Korf’s “Requiem.” Liturgical music for St. Mary’s Cathedral (S.F.), Congregation Rodef Beth Shalom (San Rafael), All Souls Episcopal Church (Berkeley) and others. He holds two Master of Music degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music: Composition and Vocal Performance.
