What does the Outreach Office do?

The Laney College Outreach Office provides academic program information and resource referrals to prospective students in our service area community, supports new students by staffing the Welcome Center, and coordinates enrollment and orientation events on campus each year.The Outreach office conducts presentations at locations throughout the community, and coordinates on-campus visit programs for local K-12 students, members of community-based organizations, and other groups of prospective students.


Outreach program planning is aligned with the goals of the Laney College Educational Master Plan, the Laney College Student Equity Plan, as well as the Mission, Vision and Values of the Peralta Community College District. The Outreach Office is staffed by a full-time Outreach Specialist (1.0), and a team of Student Ambassadors.



Expanding the Campus to Community Connection

The Outreach Office serves approximately 3000 people per year through visits to area high schools, conducting campus tours, hosting large visit programs such as High School Days, and attending college fairs and other education/workforce development events.


The Outreach Office is the primary vehicle for distributing information to the community about higher education opportunities and new and existing career technical education programs at Laney College and the Peralta Community College District.



Ambassadors assist students at the Welcome Center.
