Respectful Care Home

workshop participants brainstorm
Students on a health care career path in the Laney College Biology Department discuss issues relevant to patient care. How will we, as future health care workers, provide respectful care to all people? How can we contribute to positive change in our health care system?
Join us for a workshop! If you missed a workshop you are interested in, see sidebar for handouts and information.

If you attended a workshop, leave a comment on the What did you think? page.
Is there a topic you’d like to discuss that you don’t see here, or one you’d like to see done again? We believe everybody has something to add when talking about respectful care. Maybe you’ve had an experience in health care you would want to change. Or maybe you know something about a topic – like caring for a parent, or advocating for better care for children, or what respectful care looks like for people with disabilities. You can propose a workshop to talk with other students and share your experiences so that we can all learn and grow. If you are interested in facilitating a future workshop, contact Rebecca Bailey (rbailey@peralta.edu). Thinking of a topic but nervous to be a facilitator? Check out Info for Potential Facilitators. You can find out more about Anatomy & Physiology at Laney on Rebecca’s webpage.
